Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor in Biostatistics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has a strong background in statistical theory and statistical genetics. She studied statistics and statistical genetics under the guidance of Dr. Shuanglin Zhang at the Michigan Technological University and earned her PhD in 2008. Then, she obtained her postdoctoral training from Dr. Mingyao Li at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009-2010. Her research interest in studying the regulation of normal and malignant hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, therapeutic targeting of malignant stem cells started in 2010 when she worked at the City of Hope as an assistant research professor.
Dr. Wang research work involves developing powerful statistical methods for gene-based association analysis, algorithms for detection of copy number variations, and analysis of the next-generation sequencing data. She works closely with her collaborators searching susceptibility factors in the development of therapy-related cardiac dysfunction and avascular necrosis after surviving childhood cancer, studying the regulation of normal and malignant hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, therapeutic targeting of malignant stem cells. Presently she is working as a Associate porofessor in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
