Andris Buikis is a leading researcher in the Laboratory of Mathematical Technologies in Latvian University.His doctorate dissertation in physics and mathematics was defended in the University of Kazan. In 2010, he was elected as Member of Latvian Parliament in the 10th Saeima elections and in 2011 after extraordinary elections in the 11th Saeima.
