University of Thessaly
Elena Mente is an Associate Professor in aquatic animal nutrition and physiology at the University of Thessaly in Greece and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen in the UK. Her research interests lie mainly in decapod crustacean and fish physiology and nutrition. Her publications include edited volumes, chapters in books and research papers in many peer-reviewed journals. She has received a number of grants on issues of organic aquaculture and nutrition, and reproduction of Norway lobster. She currently serves in the Editorial team of Central European Journal of Biology. She is involved in several research projects supported by the European Commission. She has organized many workshops/conferences related to aquaculture and was also the chairman of the Crustacean Society Summer Meeting and the 10th Colloquium Crustacea Decapoda Mediterranea. She is elected European Governor of the Crustacean Society for 2011-2015 and a member of the Board of European Aquaculture Society.
