Professor of Production Plant Design & Management, and Industrial Plants, at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Italy.He holds “Industrial Eco-Efficiency” PhD Course in the PhD programme of Management , Economics, and Industrial Engineering (DRIG), Politecnico di Milano.He also teaches in National and International Master Courses and Advanced Courses (Eco-sustainability and Green Economy, Industrial Energy Efficiency, Strategy and Management of Enterprises of the Energy Sector, Eco-Efficiency Design and ManagementFrom 2011, Italian representative (invited) at the International Energy Agency (IEA) – Industrial Energy-related Technologies and Systems (IETS) within the Annex XIV on “Energy Efficiency in SMEs”.Distinguished Speaker, “Industrial Process Eco-Efficiency vs. Product Eco-Effectiveness”, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Grant, Xerox Auditorium, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester (NY), USA, April 2007.In November 2004 he has been invited to give a lecture at the Special Commission of Waste Recycling of the Italian Parliament on “Conditions for developing the sector of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recovery and Treatment”.
Research Interest
Sustainable Operations, Industrial Energy Efficiency, Industrial Eco-Efficiency, Green Design, Risk Analysis & Management, Design and Management of Production Systems and Industrial Plants.In the last seven years most of his research has been devoted to SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).
