Biography
Dr. Norhayati is currently an Associate Professor and Consultant Prosthodontist at Restorative Dentistry Unit, School of Dental Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). In 1993, she received the Malaysian Government’s scholarship to study dentistry at The University of Adelaide, Australia and graduated in 1998. After working as a general dentist in Malaysia for 2 years, she then pursues her postgraduate studies and obtained her Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry and Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from The University of Adelaide, in 2001 and 2004 respectively. She also passed her Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) examination in 2004 and become a fellow to the RACDS since then. Dr. Norhayati is actively involved in teaching restorative dentistry to the undergraduate and postgraduate students at USM, and is appointed as a Visiting Lecturer at two other dental faculties in Malaysia. Apart from teaching, she has great interest in research and has been presenting her research works at numerous local and international dental meetings and scientific conferences. She has special interest in dental materials, prosthodontics and endodontic research and has published in peer-reviewed local and international journals, apart from being a reviewer for the local and international dental journals. She has also been appointed as editorial board members for two international dental (and medical) journals.
