Biography

I am a researcher in Biomedicine with an experience of around 10 years in immunology related work. My broad interest is in how cellular immunology and biochemistry can be integrated to understand diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in a better way. I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, Mumbai, India with a PhD in Biosciences and Bioengineering. I did postdoctoral research in UMRS 872 Equipe 16, INSERM, PARIS, France, wherein I focused to understand the genesis of immune response against therapeutic factor VIII in hemophilia A patients utilizing various model systems. In 2008, I shifted to Boston and worked as an Instructor in Medicine at Channing Laboratory, Brigham and Womens Hospital (2009-2012). From 2012 August onwards, I am working as an Instructor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology, Harvard Medical School. My current work is to understand how components of commensal microflora induce immunomodulation.

I co-authored several peer-reviewed research articles and review articles (40+, 15 as first, co-first or corresponding author) in reputed international journals and presented my work in several international conferences on Immunology, Hematology, Glycobiology and Colitis. My work formed the basis of various projects in our laboratory and resulted in two patents.

I was a member of the European Macrophage and Dendritic cell Society (EMDS, 2005-2007) and currently regular member of AAI (2010 - ) and have been invited to deliver lecture at international conferences and review research and review articles from several journals including Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology & Scientific Reports, Nature Publishing Group.
