Biography
Dr. Viral completed his graduation (MBBS) and postgraduation in Internal Medicine (MD) from M.P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar in years 2002 and 2007 respectively. Then, he received Fellowship (DM) in endocrinology in 2012 from one of the most reputed institutions of India, Postgraduate Institution of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Before, joining the Fellowship, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Government Medical College, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He is currently assistant professor at Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, University of Colorado, Denver. His areas of interest include clinical care in patients with type 1 diabetes, use of technologies for the management of diabetes and diabetes associated complications especially osteoporosis. He is actively involved in research and clinical activities and have published more than 60 research articles in various peer reviewed journals. He was the recipient of the B. Braun and A.V. Gandhi awards for clinical excellence in medicine and endocrinology, respectively. He also received many merits and awards for working with non-profit organizations for humanitarian works.
