Biography

Remi Baudoui is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Institute of Environmental Sciences of the University of Geneva. He was commissioned to the established in 2006-2008 Institute of Environmental Sciences, which is based on interdisciplinary between social and physical sciences. His research focuses on the history of theories and doctrines of planning, analysis of public policies for urban development, policy management and post-conflict reconstruction, human security and risk issues related to terrorism. He was also appointed Technical Advisor to the Director of Architecture and Heritage under the Ministry of Culture and Communication. From 2001 to 2003 he was deputy director and then director of the urban research program of the Ministry of Research. Remi Baudoui is the author of 5 books and about hundred articles.
He also taught at the University of Paris-XII, and the University of Paris X-Nanterre. He was appointed for one year as a delegate at the CNRS in URBAMA-Urbanization laboratory Arab World devoted to the study of the Arab world at the University of Tours. He also taught abroad, especially: University of Cairo, Giza in 2001, University of Hanoi in 2011 and University of Balamand in Beirut in 2013. Member of various committees in the University of Geneva as well as he is a member for the evaluation of research teams Quebecquois Research Fund for Culture and the Social Sciences and also an expert attached to the National Research Fund of Belgium.

1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?

I am associated for two years ago

2. What is the research topic you are working on currently?

I work at present on the questions of environmental ethics, risk society management, political violence and terrorism but state and peace building and reconstruction.

3. What do you think are the attributes for a quality article?

The attributes for a quality article are: the description of a quality state of the art, a good problematisation of the subject, the coherence of the argumentation, the contribution of factual data, the capacity of synthesis and the putting it perspective of the subject.

4. Do you have any research funding at present for your work (NIH or other national funding)?

Yes I emerge at present at the funding of National Swiss Research

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?

Two years ago

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?

I think in a exploration of the disciplinary limits in particular in a confrontation and mitigation between social sciences, natural sciences and legal sciences.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?

To have been able to manage at once in the same time a scientific career and an administrative career in the domains of the scientific management of research and in the constitution of public policies. For me scientific and theoretical analyses go hand in hand with a reflection on their application on the ground within the frameworks of construction of public policies.

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?

The scientific review help the potential researchers by announcing them new themes of research, new methodologies used as well as the new finalized tools of analysis.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?

The editor must bring his knowledge to favor with all the members of the board the conditions of the forward-looking reflection on the subjects and the themes which should be treated by the scientific review.

Its field is very open. Arts and Social Sciences Journal own a very intellectual curiosity and pragmatic approach on social sciences. It accepts a big cultural diversity.
