Psychiatric Epidemiology

Psychiatric epidemiology reviews descriptive and analytic epidemiology for major mental disorders of childhood, adulthood, and late adult life. Psychiatric epidemiology will also examine issues of classification and the nosology of psychiatric disorders as well as operational case definitions and the measurement techniques to enhance field surveys and risk factor research. Despite encouraging advances, much work still needs to be conducted before psychiatric epidemiology can realize its potential to improve the mental health of populations. International Journal of Emergency Mental Health and Human Resilience is one of the publications of OMICS group with most cited articles on Psychiatric epidemiology. The journal presents an education series providing updates relevant to emergency mental health, as well as, an ongoing annotated research review of relevant papers will help to understand and overcome highly treatable conditions before they become clinical anxiety disorders.
