"Psychopharmacology is the branch of psychology which deals with study of effects of drugs on mood, thinking and behavior. The branch studies the various effects of the drugs with psycho active activity especially drugs acting on central nervous system. Psychoactive drugs interact with receptors on nervous system as drug receptor interactions are important to show pharmacological activity. The research methodologies covered range from neurochemical assays and electrophysiological recording to studies of functional neuroimaging, and the methods of experimental psychology and ethology, as well as clinical neurology and psychiatry.
