Journal of vortex science and technology is the best journal behind the physics of vortex duster.
The interaction of two co-rotating trailing vortices, it is well-known that vortices of like-sign ultimately merge to form a single vortex, and there has been much work on measuring and predicting the initial conditions for the onset of merger, especially concerning the critical vortex core radius. However, the physical mechanism causing this merger has received little attention. In this work, we directly measure the structure of the antisymmetric vorticity field that causes the co-rotating vortices to be pushed towards each other during merger. We discover that the form of the antisymmetric vorticity comprises two counter-rotating vortex pairs, whose induced velocity field readily pushes the two centroids together. The merging velocity computed from the antisymmetric vorticity field agrees closely with the merging velocity measured directly from the total (original) flow field. Vortex merging plays an important role in the evolution of aircraft trailing wakes. Any lifting surface, such as the wing of an aircraft, generates a vortex sheet which sheds into the wake. The distribution of vorticity in the wake is dictated by the geometry and lift distribution of the lifting surface. On an aircraft wing, the vorticity shed from various components quickly roll-up in the near-ï¬eld to form a single line vortex. This roll-up in three-dimensions is analogous to the vortex merging in two-dimensions.
A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
OMICS Group International through its Open Access Initiative is committed to make genuine and reliable contributions to the scientific community. OMICS Group hosts over 700+ peer-reviewed journals and organize over 3000+ International Scientific Conferences annually all over the world. OMICS International journals have over 15 million readers and the fame and success of the same can be attributed to the strong editorial board which contains over 50,000+ editorial board members that ensure a rapid, quality and quick review process. OMICS Group signed an agreement with more than 100 International Societies to make healthcare information Open Access. OMICS Group Conferences make the perfect platform for global networking as it brings together renowned speakers and scientists across the globe to a most exciting and memorable scientific event filled with much enlightening interactive sessions, world class exhibitions and poster presentations.
