Vortex Ring Formation

A vortex ring may be formed is by injecting a compact mass of fast moving fluid (A) into a mass of stationary fluid (B) (which may be the same fluid). Viscous friction at the interface between the two fluids slows down the outer layers of A relative to its core. Those outer layers then slip around the mass A and collect at the rear, where they re-enter the mass in the wake of the faster-moving inner part. The net result is a poloidal flow in A that evolves into a vortex ring. Journal of Vortex Science and Technology is one of the Open access peer reviewed journal in the study of vortex ring formation. The manuscripts published in this journal are current research in the form of original research and review. All published articles are permanently archived and available at OMICS Group website in HTML, Digital, Audio and PDF formats. The articles published in this journal are indexed in Media Finder, Journal Seek and Google Scholar. A closed loop forms by a region where the fluid mostly spins around the imaginary axis. A vortex ring usually tends to move in a direction that is perpendicular to the plane of the ring and such that the inner edge of the ring moves faster forward than the outer edge. Within a stationary body of fluid, a vortex ring can travel for relatively long distance, carrying the spinning fluid with it. One way a vortex ring may be formed is by injecting a compact mass of fast moving fluid into a mass of stationary fluid (which may be the same fluid). Vortex science and technology is an open access journal which has been publishing by OMICS Group, OMICS Group, being one of the international icons has been expanding publication services by acquiring different reputed journals from many prestigious publishers worldwide. It has resulted into a repository of 700+ peer-reviewed journals with the efforts and assistance of 50,000+ editorial board members running smoothly with exceptional quality. OMICS has been organizing more than 3000+ International Scientific Conferences every year providing a platform to gather all community across the globe and share their innovative thoughts and ideas.
